Last night I ushered Rain at The Old Globe. It's a new musical based on a 1921 book by Somerset Maughn. After the book it was made into a play and then 3 movie versions starring Hollywood icons Gloria Swanson, Rita Hayworth, and Joan Crawford. The music is complicated but beautiful and the set was amazing; a 3 story house that rotates and comes apart and rain falling on the stage.
