Thin layer of ice.

While the truth of this may be uncomfortable, to me it inspires gratitude for that thin layer of ice. Gratitude and appreciation for all that we have and what it takes from all of us working together to keep it strong.

Go me !

Volunteered at Mama's Kitchen this morning. I got there at 7:45am and left at 1:00pm. I unloaded 2 pallets by myself. I walked 4812 steps and burned 1233 calories and got a full body workout. I do not need to go to the gym this afternoon.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Watched 'Guardians of the Galaxy' with Everardo. Fun movie! Thank you Randy for the loan of the disc, and the 40 inch flat-screen tv and the Blue-Ray DVD player. It's all very much appreciated.

Steps

I've had Google Fit only a couple days and so far I'm impressed. Today I walked 5321 steps, which isn't so many, but it's a whole lot better than last week when I wasn't feeling well. The cool thing is it automatically picked up the time I spent on the exercise bike. Pretty amazing considering it was just hanging out clipped to my waste.

Word of the Day:

U·so·ni·an.       /yo͞oˈsōnēən/
adjective: of or relating to the United States.

noun: a native or inhabitant of the United States.

Located just outside D.C. in Alexandria, Virginia, the Pope-Leighey House remains an example of one of (Frank Lloyd) Wright’s first Usonian houses. Built to accommodate the budget and space of urban middle-class American families, some have called it Wright’s “greatest legacy to the nation."

" As a human being I acknowledge that my well-being depends on others and caring for others' well-being is a moral responsibility I take seriously. It's unrealistic to think that the future of humanity can be achieved on the basis of prayer or good wishes alone; what we need is to take action. Therefore, my first commitment is to contribute to human happiness the best I can." - Dalai Lama
