Facebook Conversations

Just had coffee with the guys, good guys, but it was very discouraging. Everybody just prattled on and on about themselves. I listened attentively, asked questions and encouraged them to say more. But it never occurred to any one to return the favor. When I shared something about myself it just fell flat; no leading questions, no appreciation of my experience. They didn't know what to do when the conversation veered away from being about them. Mostly, we seemed to have lost the skill of interactive conversation. Everyone talks in Facebook posts, telling a complete story, no input or prompting expected or even wanted. And when they're done, if you don't relate a complete story yourself they'll just launch into their next tale of their life.

Men get erections.

They're an absolutely necessary part of the human race and our physiology. They generate hormones required for a healthy body and a long productive life. We need to stop expecting men to apologize for them. Anyone uncomfortable with that needs to check their own shame in the mirror.
